PAS-5102 Integrative Medicine
Integrative Medicine Integrative medicine is the term used for the incorporation of complementary and alternative therapies (CAM) into mainstream medical practice. CAM is defined by The National Institutes of Health National’s Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine as "a group of diverse medical and health care systems, practices, and products that are not generally considered part of conventional medicine." There is some high quality evidence of safety and effectiveness of CAM. This course is designed to introduce the student to the various therapies associated with complementary and alternative medicine as well as to give evidence as to their safety and effectiveness. This will be accomplished with a combination of the Complementary and Alternative Medicine Online Continuing Education Series and lectures by the faculty.
